Terms of Service

These terms explain how Audiobook Library works: private Audiobookshelf hosting for audiobook files you bring yourself. By using the service, you agree to these terms.

The service

This service provides managed Audiobookshelf hosting. You get a private Audiobookshelf instance for audiobook files you already own, with hosting, backups, updates, and access setup handled for you.

Your files and rights

You are responsible for the audiobook files you upload. Only upload files you own or have the right to store and use. This service does not sell audiobooks and does not give you rights to content you do not already have.

Private library access

Your library is private to your Audiobookshelf instance. You are responsible for the users you create inside Audiobookshelf and for keeping account access secure.

Admin access inside Audiobookshelf

You have admin access inside Audiobookshelf, so you can create users, manage metadata, and organize your own library. You do not get access to the underlying server, containers, Kubernetes cluster, storage layer, or other infrastructure.

Storage

The current plan includes 100 GB of audiobook storage. If you need more storage, contact me before uploading a larger library.

Backups and export

Audiobookshelf data is backed up every 2 hours, and backups can be downloaded freely. Your audiobook files are yours. The service is meant to make hosting easier, not to trap your library.

Billing and cancellation

The service is billed as a recurring subscription. If you cancel, your subscription stops renewing. I keep the instance available for 7 days after cancellation so you have time to export your files and backups. After that period, the instance and hosted library data will be removed.

Acceptable use

Use the service for lawful personal use only. Do not upload malicious files, resell access, or use the service to store or distribute content you do not have the right to use.

Availability and maintenance

I handle hosting, updates, backups, and access setup, but no hosted service can promise perfect uptime. Maintenance, updates, incidents, or provider issues may occasionally affect access.

Suspension or termination

I may suspend or terminate access if the service is abused, used unlawfully, used in a way that risks the infrastructure or other users, or if billing fails. When practical, I will try to give you a chance to export your files and backups.
